Toby Fox has previously promised that the next parts of Deltarune will launch in 2025, but there are some technical issues that need to be fixed first. Fox outlined these problems in a post on BlueSky, with the issues centered around the console ports.

Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there’s a lot to go through. (Haven’t even tested PS5 yet) In addition to fixing Ch3/Ch4, we also need to implement having saves from the DEMO carry over to the main game on consoles… We only received the technology to do this now. Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4 Console Testing Is Ongoing

According to Fox, the bug-testing on the console versions is ongoing and hasn’t even begun on the PlayStation 5. It’s unclear if testing is completed on the PC version, with fans expecting it to launch on Windows before coming to other platforms.

Additionally, Fox’s team only just received access to the program that will let players use their old save data with the new chapters. This is vitally important, considering how choices in the first part of Deltarune and fans are expecting the same going forward, especially those who followed the Weird route.

The question of Chapter 3 & 4’s release date is still being asked by fans and Fox still hasn’t given a release date outside of the loose 2025 window. The technical issues with the console ports might only affect the launch of those versions of the game, unless Fox wasn’t a simultaneous release.

With the gradual unveiling of new Deltarune information on social media, fans are finally getting their hopes up for the next part of the story. Everyone just needs to be patient and wait for the day that Kris’ story continues.
