Back in 2020, Epic Games and Apple got into a big kerfuffle over how Apple handles payments. Epic had a problem with this since they feel the mobile phone company takes too much of the revenue (it’s explained here if you want a deeper read).

Earlier this month, the courts sided in Epic’s favor, which means Apple can’t force Fortnite to use Apple’s payment system for purchases, which means Apple loses that 30% cut.

With this news, Epic plans to re-release Fortnite on iOS devices in the US this week.

Apple Really Salty Epic Games And Blocks Fortnite Submissions

While Epic Games originally planned to launch Fortnite to iOS devices this week, that’s not happening since Apple blocked Epic’s submission of Fortnite.

Epic Games announced via the official Fortnite Twitter/X account, “Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission, so we cannot release to the US App Store or to the Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union. Now, sadly, Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.”

So far, Apple hasn’t made any announcement about this block, and there’s no news on whether we’ll ever get Fortnite on iOS devices. Chances are, Epic Games is looking to legal means to get the game onto the platform.
