Dragon’s Dogma 2: All Side Quests, Locations, & Rewards

DD2 is full of side quests. Here’s how you can find them all and what their rewards are.

Just like other NPCs in the game, the players’ main Pawn also has an affinity rating. The only catch is that players aren’t able to give their main Pawn gifts like other NPCs, making increasing their Affinity different than the usual methods.

How To Increase Main Pawn Affinity

The Player High Fiving Their Main Pawn

There are a few ways to increase your main Pawn’s Affinity, each being on a cooldown to slow the process of maxing out that Affinity. After a battle, high-fiving your main Pawn will give them a boost in Affinity, but this can only be done when they ask for it. Talking to your main Pawn will also increase their Affinity, even if it’s not a fully drawn-out conversation like with other NPCs.

Visiting the hot springs with your Pawn will also give them a nice boost in Affinity, and changing their appearance offers the biggest boost. All of these methods are on a ten-minute cooldown, so trying to max out Affinity with your main Pawn will take time.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: All Conditions, Elements, And Debilitations

DD2 has a ton of things that can influence battles. Some of these include Conditions/Debilitations and Element Damage. Here’s a breakdown of those.

Can You Check Affinity With Your Main Pawn

The Player Reviving Their Main Pawn

Just like with other NPCs, it’s not possible to directly check your main Pawn’s Affinity with the player. The only tell will be that they blush when talking with the player when their Affinity is maxed out. For those who take the time to max out their main Pawn’s Affinity, the final cutscene of the game will have a slight difference. This won’t be any story-altering change, but a unique difference for those who took the time to get close to their closest companion.

Your main Pawn is very customizable, starting with their Inclination.Changing their Inclination to best fit their chosen Vocation can make them even more effective in combat.
