SID is a useful tool and a mainstay for puzzle-solving in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Players might be confused about how to use SID and Find the Frequency of the faulty nodes that Alex wants to be fixed using the new tool. Here is how to do it.
How To Use SID
To take SID out after obtaining it, press 5 on PC, L1 + Triangle on PS5, or LB + Y on Xbox. After you take SID out, press and hold the interact hotkey to start the device. Aim the device at the floor, and it will light up with two colors of wires running underneath the flooring. SID works like an X-ray with the ability to see through the ground.
Finding The Frequency
Look directly underneath Alex to see where the green wiring is starting from. Following the green line will lead you to a faulty terminal with a yellow wire emerging from it. Aim SID at the terminal and hold the left mouse button to trigger the device. You’ll see a green circle with a large grey circle around it. You control the grey circle and need to line it up with the green circle to solve the puzzle. Press Q and E to widen or shorten the circle and have it line up with the green one. This should be fairly easy to do once you understand the controls as the circles snap into place once they’re close to each other, so you don’t need to be too precise.
Once you fix the first terminal, the yellow line emerging from it will turn green. Follow the now-green wiring using SID until you come across another faulty node. Fix the terminal, and the line going further upward will also turn green.
Following this wiring will lead you to a computer terminal that you can now hack with SID (indicated by a hacking symbol floating above it).
Interact with the computer terminal using SID and have the two circles overlap again like the way you did with the previous ones. This will bring up the hacking menu. The goal here is simple: reach the end of the line before the timer at the top expires. Since this is an introductory mission, the hacking process is fairly easy. Simply follow the path pictured above using directional keys, and you’ll be able to fix the computer terminal as well.
Whenever you’re close to a location where SID can be used, you’ll see a glowing indicator at the bottom of the screen. In its idle state, SID’s reticle is a square. If you’re close to a terminal where SID can be used, it starts becoming a circle. Follow this direction to find terminals easily.
