For Final Fantasy fans on PC looking forward to the second chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, you can play the RPG later this month, almost a year after its release on PS5 in February 2024. It won’t be a straight port, however, as Square Enix is adding a few more bells and whistles to the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC Has Improved Visuals Compared To PS5 Version

Players can expect the following enhancements:

  • Improved Lighting
  • Enhanced Visuals
  • DualSense Wireless Controller Support
  • NVIDIA DLSS Functionality
  • Up to 4K and 120fps
  • Mouse and Keyboard Support’s not

Numerous graphic options will be available with three presets: Low, Medium High. Also, PC players can customize the on-screen NPC (non-player-controlled character) count to fit what your rig can handle.

With the game’s impending release on PC, the Xbox platform is now the odd man out. That might change soon, given that Square Enix’s isn’t happy with the sales numbers of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and even Final Fantasy 16.

While the PC version of FF7 Rebirth might be better graphically, it should still be the same solid action-RPG. As for the next and final chapter in the Remake trilogy, there’s no release date yet, though Square Enix devs has confirmed they have finalized the story for it. If the past two games are any indication, don’t expect it to be released until at least 2027, and on the PS5 first. But who knows? Perhaps Square Enix will finally release it simultaneously on consoles and PC by that time.
