Nintendo Patent Shows Nvidia DLSS AI Upscaling Implementation In Switch 2

In a recent patent, it appears that Nintendo is working with Nvidia to implement AI upscaling in their upcoming console.

The big news is that the packaging shot confirms a 3.5-slot thick cooler and the rumored 32GB of GDDR7 memory! That’s double the memory that’s rumored to be in the RTX 5080 model. Quite the powerhouse of a GPU, and we expect it to be rather expensive if the rest of the rumored specs are anything to go by, which has the card drawing a whopping 575 watts, likely during peak usage.

Additionally, as shared by VideoCardz, the rumored specs of each card in the series can be found below.

GeForce RTX 5090 Comes With Plenty of GDDR7, Though It’ll Require Quite an Amount of Power During Peak Usage

Based on these specs alone, and how Nvidia has priced the RTX 4000 series of cards, we expect the prices to range between $1000 to $2499 before taxes. That’s for MSRP, which we don’t expect to stick with all manufactures, so for those eyeing the best RTX 5090, get ready to spend quite a fortune on the card.

Same as with every other leak, take it with a grain of salt until officially confirmed or debunked. The wait for that won’t be long, as Nvidia is expected to reveal the RTX 5000 series line of cards, DLSS 4 and other next-gen features during their keynote tomorrow at CES 2025.
