It’s often said that a positive spirit can overcome any challenge and Jhuma Chakraborty from Ranchi in Jharkhand is living proof.
She launched her business with just Rs 4,000, the money her mother had given her for Durga Puja. Instead, Jhuma saved it, bought some clothes, and began stitching blouses. “I am not very educated, but I always wanted to do something on my own,” she says. Now, she has a collection of designer sarees and blouses with unique Katha work, each design being a product of her own creativity.
Collection Of All Types Of Printed Sarees And Blouses
“Here, you will find the best collection of sarees and blouses of all types of prints. We especially stitch blouses from silk to cotton and designer blouses. You will find all the latest Bollywood blouse designs with me. Additionally, blouses are available in Katha work and can be customised,” she says.
She further elaborates, “You will see the finest collection of sarees here. These sarees feature beautiful Katha work, embroidered with silk thread. This embroidery is absolutely unique, with some having floral designs and others showcasing beautiful art and craft. I create all this with my own hands, having learned the skill from my mother.”
Online Orders And Loyal Customers
Jhuma confidently states, “Once someone wears my blouse, they will not prefer any other. Because we never compromise on quality. Consequently, the blouse offers such a perfect fit and beautiful look that if I sell one blouse, 10 more orders follow. People place orders over the phone, and I also have loyal customers.”
Earning Lakhs Of Rupees A Month
Smiling, Jhuma recounts her success story. “I now have many sarees and blouses made, as sometimes it is beyond my capacity to fulfil all the orders alone. The business that I started with Rs 4,000 has now grown to generate Rs 1 lakh a month. But it wasn’t easy, as I had to manage everything alone.”
Jhuma advises other women, “Women should earn their own money because it doesn’t feel good to ask for even a rupee from anyone. The most important thing is to study and become capable. I have a 12-year-old daughter; I could only study up to the 12th standard, but I want to educate her well and help her secure a job. Standing on your own feet brings a different kind of confidence and happiness.”
