As one might expect from an RGG Studio game, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’sseafarer adventure is peppered with off-the-walls goofy substories and minigames.

On his adventures in Hawaii, Majima will get caught up in all sorts of weird shenanigans, and taking pictures of perverts is certainly an unexpected side story.

You’ll need a huge wallet to spend on the ship and abilities

Making a return from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Sicko Snap is perhaps one of Yakuza‘s silliest minigames.

It’s clearly an homage to Nintendo’s Pokémon Snap, but instead of adorable Pokémon, you’re snapping photos of mask-wearing, Speedo-clad perverts who plague Honolulu with their degeneracy.

Completing the minigame and its substory will also give you the handy Scope Ring.

This guide will provide an overview of the minigame, notable rewards, as well as the more elusive Sickos that can be easily missed. Gotta snap ’em all!

How To Unlock

pirateyakuza-149

As with most other minigames, Sicko Snap is available fairly early in the game in the form of a substory.

You’ll need to first begin the substory “Snap Those Sickos! Again!” by going to the Aloha Beach Trolley Stop on Aloha Street in East Waikiki, Honolulu.

pirateyakuza-145

Once you get on the trolley, you’ll meet Kuroki, whom players might remember from Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

He’ll tell you about his occupation as a pervert photographer, and he’ll invite you to take photos of Sickos with him (for justice, of course).

You’ll then have access to Sicko Snap, and Kuroki will be sitting at the trolley stop as a vendor for you to exchange points with.

How To Play Sicko Snap

pirateyakuza-147

The premise of Sicko Snap is simple: you’ll ride the trolley on a predetermined path and take photos of a set number of Sickos, which nets you points that will be evaluated by the end of the trail.

The more Sickos you snap and the better the quality of the picture, the more points you earn.

To maximize point gain, you’ll need to zoom in and center the Sicko in the frame, no matter what compromising positions you may find them in.

You’ll be given an ample supply of film, and taking photos slows down time for a short duration.

Types Of Papillon Boys

As you ride the trolley looking for Sickos, there are different types of Sickos roaming around Honolulu (seriously, how many perverts are in this city?).

Kuroki will warn you that there are four types of Papillon Boys you’ll find on each trail:

  • White Papillon – the run-of-the-mill pervert. These Sickos remain in one spot, giving you plenty of time to take their photos. 50 base score.
  • Red Papillon – these require a little attention, as they tend to move across your vision quite quickly. They’re usually riding a vehicle, whether it’s a Street Surfer, a truck, or a UFO. 150 base score.
  • Blue Papillon – these are the more elusive Sickos, as they appear from ledges, hedges, and wedges for a few seconds before receding into their hiding spot. 250 base score.
  • Golden Papillon – the rarest Sickos. While they don’t move fast or hide, you earn the most points by timing your photos to when they strike the Ono Michio pose. Wait for them to get into position, and take the photo right as they strike their pose. 350 base score.

Scoring System

pirateyakuza-169

After each round of Sicko Snap, you’ll be evaluated based on how many Sickos you’ve taken photos of, what kind you’ve managed to snap, and how well you framed your shots.

  • The base score of each Papillon Boy you’ve snapped.
  • 50 points for each “Good” photo.
  • 150 points for each “Excellent” photo.
  • 500 points for the Gold Bonus photo.

Notable Rewards

Once you’ve snapped enough Sickos and netted a hefty amount of points, you can redeem those points for items by speaking to Kuroki at his usual spot.

Here are some notable items that might be worth your while:

  • Silver Treasure Chest – 29,000 points. Contains the Ring of Flowers treasure that’s worth $11,600 and 8,420 pirate rank points. Not only that, but wearing it gives 220 Defense and boosts the power of Heat Actions when making use of terrain.
  • Crewmate: Papillon Boy – 3,300 points. Bronze tier crewmate.
  • Crewmate: Patriarch Gondawara – 11,000 points. Silver tier crewmate.
  • Crewmate: Crystal Papillon – 22,000 points. Gold tier crewmate. Recommended to be assigned to man the cannons on the Goromaru.
  • Scourge of the Night Top – 3,500 points. Customization.
  • Scourge of the Night Bottoms – 3,500 points. Customization.
  • Scourge of the Night Shoes – 2,000 points. Customization.
  • Scourge of the Night Makeup – 2,000 points. Customization.
  • Golden Ball – 33,333 points. Essential for the “When You Wish Upon Some Balls” questline.

Substory: The Sicko Snap Saga

pirateyakuza-167

Once you’ve completed all three trolley trails, Kuroki will tell you about a Sicko who’s so elusive that his status borders on legendary, starting “The Sicko Snap Saga” substory.

Aptly dubbed the Legendary Sicko, your next mission is to go to Crystal Papillon Island and find him.

Unlike what the dialogue might suggest, you’re not physically going to Crystal Papillon Island via Goromaru, but instead, it’s a trail in and of itself in Sicko Snap.

Talk to Kuroki, and you’ll now have an option to travel to Crystal Papillon Island.

On this trail, you’ll be on a raft going through a lazy river, with Noah, Goro, and Kuroki tagging along your island escapade. Many of the Sickos on these trails will be popping out of the water, so keep your eye out on Papillon Boys who seem to have a knack for synchronized swimming.

Once you’ve gone through enough of the trail and taken a photo of the final Papillon Boy, you’ll arrive at a beach, where you’ll encounter the legendary Crystal Papillon, whose crotch is glowing in a blinding light.

pirateyakuza-168

Because he has a health bar, we can consider this a boss fight. To whittle him down, you must take photos of the Papillon Boy every time his crotch is exposed. He’ll telegraph how by first appearing with his crotch covered.

Once you’ve snapped enough photos, he’ll fall over and you’ll get the perfect opportunity to take dozens of photos like an overzealous paparazzo.

pirateyakuza-153

Completing Crystal Papillon Island will finish the substory, and Crystal Papillon will be successfully apprehended by the authorities.

As thanks for your help, Kuroki will reward you with the unique Scope Ring, which is arguably one of the best rings in the game.

pirateyakuza-151

While the Scope Ring only gives a paltry 80 defense and 30 bullet defense, it has a unique trait that allows you to see hidden treasure chests and paper fortunes scattered across Honolulu.

If you’re trying to 100% treasure chests and find paper fortunes to exchange with Kamulop in Little Japan, then this is a must-have.
