It looks like SEGA has filed a new trademark for Skies of Arcadia. Now, before anyone assumes this is confirmation of an announcement, it’s not, given SEGA has been filing new trademarks for some of its dormant IPs.

Will Skies of Arcadia Soar Again?

The filing for Skies of Arcadia was made on January 16, 2025, and it went public on January 24 (via FinalWeapon). Again, this is not a confirmation that a new Skies of Arcadia game is in the works, but at the very least, SEGA still has the IP in its mind.

Important to note that in 2023, SEGA filed a bunch of trademarks for its classic IPs such as After Burner, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Alex Kidd, Outrun and Super Monkey Ball. Just last month, SEGA also filed a trademark for Ecco the Dolphin as well.

The House of the Dead 2 Remake has also been announced, and is due for release in Spring 2025.

SEGA is currently developing a good number of its classic franchises into newer games such Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Jet Set Radio, as was confirmed in December of 2023.
