Next month, the next set of remastered games in the Tomb Raider franchise will be released, and alongside the visual upgrades, there’s a good number of improvements that affect gameplay and other aspects. In Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, developer Aspyr has outlined some improvements implemented in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness.

Aside from the controls, which players can choose between the tank and the modern controls, Aspyr and Saber are introducing a host of improvements, a formerly inaccessible area, and even new voice lines.

Based on what Aspyr has shared, we’ve compiled all the known improvements in an easy-to-read list.

Controls – the camera can be fully rotated 360 degrees, and Lara can jump in the direction the camera is pointing without needing to adjust her facing before jumping. Lara can also shoot around corners in stealth mode.
Kurtis Trent’s Abilities – The remaster restores Kurtis’ ability to wield the Chirugai in-game, can now also project a psychic shield around his body, and can now sprint like Lara and shoot around corners while in stealth mode
Parisian Back Streets Training Area – The Parisian Back Streets had an unfinished training area where players could learn the commando crawl ability. While players could access the area using certain tools, it has been fully restored in the remaster.
Rennes’ Pawnshop – In the original, this is where Lara sold items for money, which wasn’t much use. In the remaster, players can now obtain weapons and weapon accessories such as the Silencer and Lasersight, and gives a better incentive to look for those cash stashes.
Unused Voice Lines – Various voice lines from Lara and Kurtis have been restored, providing more context to help players better understand the story and offer additional hints.
New Notebook Entries – Werner Von Croy’s Notebook has been updated in the remaster to updated to include new entries as the game progresses.
Inventory Items Restored – Some inventory items such as Von Croy’s cane has been restored, which Aspyr says holds a secret that can only be unlocked in the inventory.

Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered houses Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999), Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000), and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003).

Tomb Raider 46 Remastered will be available on Feb. 14, 2025, on the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Game Store).
