With Borderlands 4 kicking off pre-orders recently, Gearbox has seen it fit to release the looter shooter’s PC requirements as well, and you might want to sit down if you don’t have a beefy rig.

While the complete PC requirements for both the minimum and recommended specifications are available below, we’re jumping the gun here and already telling you that it’s not a light game to run, contrary to what we’ve been accustomed to from the franchise’s past releases.

Borderlands may have bazillions of guns, but these ten are the weirdest that you can find across the series.

The game requiring eight CPU cores hasn’t been lost to the game’s community. On the Steam subreddit, a user created a thread that has garnered over 4,000 upvotes to date, with most people blaming Unreal Engine 5 as the cause.

The user compared the latest game released in the franchise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which was released recently, and noted that the requirements now represent a drastic leap, considering the game was released just three years ago.

I’m not a developer, but I understand where the community is coming from. I mean, the Borderlands franchise isn’t exactly known to be on the cutting edge of visual fidelity, and when you consider how its art style is, it is a bit worrying that the game requires this much juice to run.

Borderlands 4 launches on September 12 on the PS5, Xbox Series X}S and PC, and thankfully, it won’t cost $80.
