Larian Studios has released a surprise update for Baldur’s Gate 3 that fixes several outstanding issues with the game, most notably an issue with the photo mode involving Wild Shape Druids not looking at the camera while turned into cats.

Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 was the last major content update for the game. However, the developers have confirmed that they will still release hotfixes to resolve any remaining glitches in the game, of which there are many, owing to just how huge Baldur’s Gate 3 is.

There is “no passion” for Larian to develop DLCs.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s official Steam page has confirmed that hotfix 31 is now available. This addresses a number of issues with the game, including spells and abilities not working properly and, most notably, an issue with Druid class abilities in the photo mode.

Baldur's Gate 3 Druid Polar Bear

One issue fixed in Hotfix 31 involves Druids in Photo mode who have used Wild Shape to turn into a Boar or a Cat will now respond to the “Look at the Camera” prompt. If only real felines did the same thing.

Some of the other notable fixes include fixing trippy visuals that sometimes appear when teleporting, upgrading the damage for the Barbarian’s Rage ability, and most importantly, fixing a glitch where Scratch would be dismissed when traveling to a new region, while appearing as dead in the UI.

It’s unclear how many more of these Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfixes will be released, especially with Larian hard at work on its next games. Most of the issues seem related to Patch 8’s new subclasses and spells, so hopefully, there isn’t too much left to mend in the game.

The day is fast approaching that there won’t be any more updates for Baldur’s Gate 3, even though fans are expecting a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game at some point, which may end up giving Nintendo fans the best experience, as it will be the version with the most content and fewest contents.
